About the Authors
Richard L. Grossman
Richard Grossman is the Director of Education, Training and Development for the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund (CELDF)
He is a former member of POCLAD, of which he was a co-founder together with Ward Morehouse, Apex Press Publisher. In 1993, Grossman co-authored the pamphlet Taking Care of Business: Citizenship and the Charter of Incorporation with Frank Adams. Many of Grossman's articles are in Defying Corporations, Defining Democracy: A Book of History and Strategy (2001). He also authored the pamphlet Wresting Governing Authority from the Corporate Class: Driving people into the Constitution. His work revealing the usurpation of majority governing authority by powerful minorities hiding behind corporations is part of the core curriculum of CELDF's Democracy Schools. The story of how the courts wrapped corporations in our Constitution, creating a legal shield behind which minorities assault communities unharassed, is the story of the rise of the Corporate State in America, but it is intertwined with the story of how people have struggled for centuries to create majority rule and rights for all.
